iDisk = 2 TB?!

I didn't screencap this because I was stunned, so I don't expect anyone to believe me, but for about 5 seconds while I was logged on to my iDisk through MobileMe, the "-" sign appeared over my Public folder as if I couldn't access it, and the capacity reading at the bottom of the Finder window said 2 TB available.

Yes... TERABYTES.

Everything quickly returned to normal, so I have no idea what just happened, but would love other people's input. I don't own any drives larger than 750 GB, so it wasn't reading something locally. My hope would be I happened to log on at just the right moment to have caught a glimpse of a future Apple offering, but that seems highly unlikely to jump from 20 GB of storage to 2 TB.

Can anyone offer a logical explanation of what I just saw? I'd love to know what just happened.

Maybe the logical drives used by Apple are 2TB in size. Don't get your hopes up.

Not up on all the terminology, but are you saying that maybe the drive that all my iDisk data is being stored on up in the "cloud" is a 2TB drive, and for a moment it was reading the whole drive size instead my personal allotment?

That actually does make good sense.

I'll keep hoping, and see what other people have to say. Not much of a techie, so this is good input!

It'd be nice if Apple started offering some more space with a MobileMe subscription... Since, well, not many people seem to think it's worth the full $99. (I just ordered an "old version" for $60 online; it certainly seems worth $5/month.)

I'm not talking about 2 TB for every user... but maybe make the 40 GB basic for single users and give an additional 40GB for the family account? Google's offering over 7 GB for each FREE email account now.

Anyway, back to the question: The whole thing about MobileMe's actual drives being 2TB seems to make sense.

In addition, does anyone know how the Time Capsule thing works? Aren't you supposed to be able to access it through MobileMe while away from your home network? There's now a 2TB Time Capsule... just a thought.

Just jumped on here to find out what was going on because I saw the same thing.

I have used several different folders on my idisk and have been going back and forth between finder and idisk and the 2TB still remains
