i accidentally changed the idisk icon, so can somebody post the purple icon as an attachment so i can have it? my dad will kill me if he sees that its different (he dosn't like people messing with his mac)
I found out the system icons are all located on your hard drive in Macintosh HD/System/Library/CoreServices in a bundle called CoreTypes.bundle. Right click on it and choose 'Show Package Contents', the go into Contacts/Resources and look for iDisk.
It's an icns file so I'm not sure how you you apply it. The usual Get info then drag and drop method didn't work for me. You might be able to do it with some third party software, like Candybar. Sorry, but that that's my best idea so far. I'll still look for the icon online.
Good luck, I know what it's like to mess up your Dad's mac, it's happened to me lots of times.
OK, ignore my previous advice, I've found the solution.
Simply right click on the iDisk and click get info. In the top left corner, click the icon (it should have a little blue outline now. It it doesn't, click again) and hit backspace on your keyboard.
That's it. It should revert the icon back to the original one.
