So I have some raw DV footage that comes in to just under 8gb. I want to edit it in iMovie and iDVD and then export it as an image to burn on my mom's emachines. I chose that because she has a Double Layer burner unlike my mac (ya that's sad). How would I go about doing this? I don't want iDVD to try to compress it (thinking I will use a standard DVD-r).

ya can't. the double-layer disc image option is only available if your mac has a double-layer burner. you would have to use toast, which can save an image of any size and then you can burn later.

you could save a 8 gb image in toast, and burn with a dl drive on another machine (you would need to rename the .toast to .iso for best results on pc) or use toast's fit-to-dvd compression and squeeze it to fit on a sl if you wanted.

Damn, is there any way to trick the mac? If not it's no big deal.
