Ok obviously before I start, I know that iLife 08 well iDVD 08 however you wanna say it, has the option I don't think iLife 07 did where you can choose Professional Quality for encoding, as stated by the Apple help file this offers the best possible quality for your project but takes twice as long to encode, only choose if you aren't concerned about time. Ok bla bla so on.
I'm making myself a bunch of DVD's that are exactly 120 minutes of video and burning on to single layer DVDs, With the Pro Quality it says its gonna take about 3 hours, with High Quality it takes about 55 minutes to an hour.
Would upgrading to 4GB of ram from 2GB do anything for iDVD encoding times? Or is it just the amount of time it takes on a 2.8Ghz C2D?
On the other hand, has anyone really seen a difference in quality between Pro and High Quality settings that one would wanna spend double the time encoding?
