I just tried to export a movie to DVD (once to a disk image, once to an actual DVD) using iDVD and each time it gets about 3/4 of th way through then tells me there was an eor in the burning process and it locks up. Anyone had this problem?
How do I fix it?

I assume it's Tiger? 10.4.x?

Got all the relevant iDVD updates?

So it's an external DVD writer then? Could be a problem with the DVD writer.
Does it burn CDs OK?
Are there any relevant infomatics in the logs (/Applications/Utilites/Console.app).

Yes, it is 10.4.3
iDVD is upto date
It's not just when i try to burn to DVD, it's even when I create a disk-image of a project to the hard drive. It's something in the encoding process that locks up and freezes.
I have not tried to burn CDs with it, I'll try that when i get home. (I use my internal CD burner for that)

I tried yet AGAIN to create a disk image of my iDVD project (2.7GB project).
The first time it locked up and I had to force quit.
Now, it have me this message "Errors were found during the burning process. The error #-1 was reported…"

Not sure what to tell you..

Your next step should be to attempt to create a test iDVD project and see if you put THAT on a disk image.

I just got the same error message on my mini and I've tried it two or three times. This is my first stab at iDVD 5 and 10.4.3 so has anyone found a workaround? My roommate burned a slide show just fine but I'm actually trying to put some video clips together.

Thanks!

A suggestion here; try getting iDVD to save it to a disk image and then burn the disk image from Disk Utility or Toast. Then at least you've got the encoding done and you're not having to start from scratch each time.

There's a lot of talk on the Apple boards about this. Some of their suggestions include making sure there are no chapter markers within the first/final few seconds, making sure that the sound doesn't finish after the video, making sure that none of the chapter markers are within a transition.

Good luck...
