MP All Models if an iMac is left and Mac Pro is right, is iMac pro is more left or more right?

Yes, it is love child of iMac and Mac Pro, but is it more Mac Pro or more iMac.

If I am understanding what you are asking, I would say that the iMac Pro is more of an iMac than a Mac Pro.

Actually, the iMac Pro isn't anything close to a Mac Pro, imo.

I have long thought that the iMac Pro design was supposed to be a redesigned iMac, but after the Pro backlash, Apple tweeked the design to appease the Pro market until a real pro machine could be designed and produced.

I know a lot of people disagree with this, but I wouldn't be surprised if Apple doesn't ever update the iMac Pro. I think it may have been just an one-time deal.

I htink that Apple will just release a redesigned iMac in 2021 that has a bunch of the internal design elements that the iMac Pro has now.

It really depends on what your metric is. For pro modularity of swapping in/out PCIe cards, the iMac Pro is more on the iMac side of the spectrum. In terms of it's original hardware components and design, more Mac Pro. 18 cores was pretty good in 2017, and it still is a nice machine years later.

I agree with vertical smile that the iMac Pro may likely have been a one-off stopgap measure. My bet is the next iMac upgrade will use the iMac Pro cooling system and there will be advertisements to the effect that they "combined the best features of both worlds to make the best machine possible" or some other marketing jargon that makes no sense to anyone that knows anything.
