Do you think that would be a great addition to its current iTunes offering for :apple:TV?

I would presume Apple would buy Hulu mostly for the network deals. Then Apple would revamp and rename it (possibly keep Hulu around for non-Apple customers). Then Apple would basically have a kind of on-demand cable network. It would be accessible from any Mac, iOS device, or Apple TV. Pay $X a month for unlimited access to AD-FREE content. I would hope this would include all movie/tv shows in the iTunes catelog. It would also include live access to all local/national networks (the channels you get for free). This would just about kill all need for cable. Apple would just need to figure out a way to get live sports.

That would be nice. Since Jobs owns a chunk of Disney and Disney owns ESPN maybe a deal could be worked out for the live sports.

Even if they are still ad supported. If I really want to watch a show with no ads, I'll buy it from the iTunes store. All I want is hulu on Apple TV.

I dunno, I've been using Hulu+ and I really feel the current incarnation isn't very good. Not enough content, and too many ads. (Netflix can do it, why can't Hulu) I'm hoping Apple (or Hulu) would be able to open it up to even more content (especially sports). true, maybe everything on itunes is a bit much.

Maybe XX% of iTunes is available for free and the rest you must rent/purchase
Or maybe you can watch XX ad-free shows and the rest become ad-supported
or Maybe you can watch XX shows (from 100% of itunes catelog) and then pay for the rest

PS3 does Hulu+ now.

However... there is nothing "+" about it.

Lackluster interface. No access to 'web only' content. And more and more ads as time goes on....

With all that said, it is a nice option for $8/month. Especially for cord cutters.

I for one, am hoping that even if Apple does't buy Hulu, it might mean they are at least in talks and perhaps the option to use Hulu+ on TV 2 will soon come to pass.

I would love to see a better interface than on the PS3.

What other streaming web content works with it? (I can only watch Denver the guilty dog so many times lol)

Netflix, NBA and YouTube. There's no browser or anything, you only get the services which are baked in to the Apple TV OS.

I would be a great move because of the network deals. I agree that Hulu's interface is lacking, and its bloated with a bunch of 2 minute clips and trailer garbage, but if Apple were to buy it, it would most certainly be revamped.

A lot of people would really like an on demand/a la carte "Cable" option. With the network deals Hulu has, Apple TV could just about deliver that if the purchase goes through.
