What needs to be purchased in order to make a Blu-Ray player compatible with my iMac?

I'm sure if it had a unibody aluminum enclosure and black glossy apple logo on top you'd be all over it :D

gasp. I just watched a review and this thing is a tiny little beast. from the looks of it, one must change their iMac's resolution to 1280x720 in order for everything to smoothly pass.

tyvm for this find :)

I bought an Atlona AT-HD620 which upscales its 1920 x 1080 HDMI input to the 27-inch iMac's native 2560 x 1440. It has a Mini Display Port out connector which can be connected directly to the iMac's Mini DisplayPort in. Works like a charm with my Blu-ray player. The Blu-ray audio also passes through the HDMI and Mini DP cables and comes out the speakers on the bottom of the iMac 27".

There was another thread around here about hooking up the X-Box 360 to the iMac in which we posted some experiences, but I haven't been able to find much in the way of independent reviews. Google only pulls up product listings and around six krillion press releases for the thing.

Edit: Here's the other thread. The Atlona shows up near the end.
