I have been been reading around, and still am not sure about the following:

I am a MobileMe subscriber, and use me.com as one of my email addresses, mainly on my iPad (ios5). My MBP has OSX 10.6.8 and has me.com email on the Mail app, and I cannot sign up to iCloud unless I upgrade to 10.7. If I leave things as they are, will I cease to be able to use me.com email when MobileMe closes in 2012? Or will the me.com email continue to operate outside the iCoud system as well?

Thanks Clive Parfitt

On iPad ios5, if I try to activate it using my me.com account, it directs me to login to http://www.me.com on my MacBook. As I am on 10.6.8, I cannot migrate my email, addresses, iCal to iCloud. Maybe I am missing something here?

The MM service will discontinue in mid 2012. Thus, your @me account will be there but there is no service to support it - no mail, cal, contacts in "the cloud". Now whether, this would continue to work on your computer is a good question. I don't think anyone knows. You will have to call Apple.
