Hi guys, if i buy a spare battery or too and keep it in the box someware safe and cool/warm will it last without degradeing. So that when it comes 2 years down the line i can replace the battery down the line.

Why do you want to buy the battery now?

In any case, if you want to store it you'll need to charge it up to around a 50% charge and then store it. If you try to store the battery while it is either fully charged and fully discharged you'll harm it.

I'd wait a few years (or until you're going to be needing a replacement) before buying another battery, especially if all you plan to do is store it for sometime in the slightly distant future. I think the price might go down somewhat by 2009 anyway. Of course, sometimes it *is* nice to have an extra battery around and charged for plane trips. Unless you're planning on doing something like that sometimes I think I'd wait.
