Hello.
I am about to jailbreak My iPhone 3g using 'redsn0w' as I think that is best for 3.0

Just a few questions before I turn my phone into an iBrick

1. If I'm going to use my iPhone on o2 UK (the normal network) do I still need to unlock it.

2. If I'm going to use my iPhone on o2 UK (the normal network) do I need to activate my phone afterwards, and how do I do this.

3. Do I lose any features (push notifications, 3g , wifi ?) after jailbreaking ?

4. Can I still sync my music and Apps with iTunes ?

EDIT : Is it better to use Redsn0w or pwnagetool

Normally I wouldn't make a comment about lack of searching, but come on I have seen these exact questions 10 times a day.

Pwnage and red snow both work. Either way.

1. no
2. follow the instructions
3. I didn't
4. do you think ppl would jailbreak if they lost the ability to do that?

I had the same question and no one took the time to answer so I will, It will activate the phone so you dont need a ATT sim, I just did mine a few weeks ago :)
