If I preorder from Apple do I pay the full price? ($599/$699)

If I'm upgrade eligible do I have to go through the upgrade order process through AT&T? I'd rather order thru Apple to get my phone on the 24th, but not sure if that means paying $699 for the phone. I searched but couldn't find an answer on here.

No you'll pay the price for which you're eligible.

Apples systems are connected to AT&T. They know your uprade eligibility. In fact, there is a page on Apples site to check it.
