So I've had an alu 20" imac for about a month, it's great. I'm not enthused about the keyboard / mouse that comes with it, so I'd like to sell them. If I need to take the imac in for service for some reason, does anyone know if I will have to take the keyboard / mouse in as well? Thank you.

the last time I had to take a desktop mac in for service, they specifically said NOT to bring the keyboard & mouse.....this was an authorized repair location and we were not sending it back to apple

I wouldn't worry about it if you sell them

I took my mac mini in to the genius bar and they said all you need to bring is the computer. They have everything else.

Some people do have some trouble using the modifier keys during boot when they are without the wired keyboards.

So it may tend to hurt you if you ever need to boot an unresponsive machine from DVD, etc.
