Later in the year after the next drop of new apple hardware I will probably bite the bullet and get rid of my beloved cMP (10 years old !) as it would be nice to have a machine that runs the latest OS and some modern emulators etc etc.

I see one pretty much the same as mine bar I have the Inatech USB3 board card fitted went for £476 two months ago which is pretty heartening news -

In terms of selling it would you suggest selling it as it is - 16TB of internal drives or keeping them although I am aware a new mac wouldn't be running at it's best off SATA.

I tend to have a massive collection of FLAC music - 5 TB and counting and about 5 TB of Movies which dont need instant super fast access so any thoughts welcomed....

I'll be honest, the ones on eBay going for the most money on completed listings are stacked out. For the fact you'll need to buy an enclosure or something to use the drives if you kept them, I would sell them. Probably worth keeping an eye out for RAM going cheap on there or Facebook and fill it up before you sell. Same for a cheap NVME.

In terms of then transferring my old 16 TB of data to the new machine externally is there any right or wrong way ? A couple of USB3 drives be ok ?
