I bought a copy of Parallels Desktop 3.0 for Mac, but I have not yet installed.

I am fairly new to the Mac, and I fear installation of some program that might embed some of its SW components into far reaching parts of OSX and be difficult or impossible to fully uninstall.

Any comments or help would be appreciated.

Does the Parallels uninstaller remove just the Parallels program, or does it remove the associated Windows OS as well?

Thanks for your comment.

Not 100% sure, but getting rid of windows is as easy as deleting the the parallels folder under the user-specific library.

Just the Parallels program. If you want to delete Windows you can either delete the virtual machine from within Parallels before uninstalling it, or delete the Parallels folder that is in the documents folder after uninstalling it.

I asked this question on another forum; at the risk of being redundant, I'll ask again here.

I like Windows 2000 and have a legit copy. Win-2000 will run on far fewer resources than Win-XP and is more than adequate for my needs.

Any reservations about first installing Parallels 3.0, updating, then installing Win-2000?

Again, you folks have been really helpful to this Mac novice, and I am grateful for your support.

Regards,
L
