Hi all:

These have probably been answered before, so I'm sorry in advance if I'm repeating things ad nauseum.

So I'm contemplating jailbreaking my 3G using QuickPwn, just to see what "the other side" is like. I've heard great things! Before I do, though ... a few questions:

1) If I immediately decide to un-jailbreak by restoring my iPhone, can I restore and re-load my previous backup (from "un-jailbroken mode") to re-load my old data such as text messages, game stats and data, etc?

2) If I leave the phone jailbroken for awhile, can I backup iPhone iTunes as I usually do? Can jailbroken phones be restored from jailbroken backups (again, to preserve and re-load data in the event of a crash)?

3) Let's say Apple releases iPhone 2.2, and a few days later QuickPwn releases an update in kind. Is QuickPwn able to update like a software update, again preserving data, stats, etc?

Thanks for the help!

/e.

1. Yes
2. Yes. Yes.
3. No. Well, kinda. If you update to 2.2 and then Jailbreak again you will have to restore from the backed up data.

Basically, your question is:

If you Jailbreak your iPhone will it still restore from backup? The answer is yep!

1. Yes.
2. Always keep a backup of CLEAN data by copying the Backup FOLDER elsewhere. Home Folder>Library>Application Support>MobileSync
3. Yes. You would have upgraded to 2.2 preserving data. Quickpwn doesn't even erase your data so you would have it preserved.
