Some type of Mac mini. If you can afford it get the new M1 Mac mini in base configuration. Also check refurbished because that’s the same as new if you’re buying from Apple.

The second choice would be look for a used Mac mini. You have to be really careful about buying used so that’s a problem if you’re not careful. Especially if you don’t know what to look for.

If the desktop is just not you and you’re thinking no way I don’t want to desktop then consider the M1 MacBook Air in the base configuration. Also check the refurbished store from Apple.

You said pretty cheap but you didn’t really give a price budget so if those new or Apple refurbished computers are out of your budget look for something used. I would really avoid buying anything that came out more than five years ago with the exception of maybe a cheap Mac mini just to play around with it.

Thank you this really helps!

Just play around and try mac os x nothing demanding just learning about it. Seeing if I like it.

If that makes sense.

I guess $200 to $300 if that is doable.

Nothing refurbished then, I’d say get something that can still run Ventura… 8GB RAM and a SSD, not a harddrive one…

Something like this from eBay would probably work. Of course this is really cheap and you could probably get something a little better for more money.
