I cannot believe they haven't taken care of this yet, especially considering they replaced the computer as the digital hub with iCloud. Why is there still no way to subscribe to podcasts from the iPhone? iTunes downloads the podcasts automatically, why can't the phone? I use iTunes Match, so I can't even sync podcasts from my computer if I wanted to. My only option is to download podcasts automatically.

I would think podcasts would sync across all devices (hell, I would think that the status itself would sync so you could listen/watch on your computer and pick up where you left off on the iPhone). Am I missing something?

Pocket Casts is an excellent downloader and organizer for Podcasts. True it would be nice to keep them all in sync via the iCloud though.

iTunes Match has nothing to do with podcasts (it should though so I understand your frustration). If your iPhone has ios 5 on it, open iTunes, select your iPhone in the left sidebar, select Podcast at the top and choose your syncing selection. When/if you plug your iPhone in at night and wireless syncing is enabled, they'll still transfer. If you're away from your comp then, yes, you have to download manually. OR, as the saying goes, there's an app for that. Try InstaCast or DownCast. Both will work like you want if you don't want to use iTunes.

Thanks for the suggestion. InstaCast ended up being my weapon of choice.
