Im torn as what to buy...Wife wanted tetris so i got it for her and now im trying to figure out which game is worth it for me?...anybody have recommendations? I was thinking the Real Racing HD looked cool but i never played it on iphone....

Depends on what you like. Real Racing on the iPhone is awesome, if you like racing sims (it's not an arcade-racer, for that you want something like Need for Speed). Geometry Wars should be good, it's based on an Xbox 360 overhead space shooter, you play it like Smash TV or Robotron, with one control stick to move, the other to shoot. For a card game to fill in short gaps of time, I've been a real fan of Dungeon Solitaire - it's a mix between CCG's like Magic: The Gathering and Solitaire, and it just got an iPad update. X-Plane is a great flight simulator on iPod, the iPad version sounds like the ultimate version of that. Zen Bound is a fun game that's a very physical puzzle game, where you rotate a model in all axes trying to wrap a rope around as much surface-area as possible. Flight Control is a fun game where you are guiding planes and helicopters around to land at airports without running into each other - it can get kinda frantic with lots of planes in the air. Field Runners is a classic iPhone tower-defense game, Civilization: Revolution is a good strategy game. Speaking of which, Galcon is a very fast-paced realtime strategy game designed specifically for touchscreens and multitouch, while Command and Conquer should be a good standard RTS.

Oh yeah, totally forgot about Plants vs Zombies, that's a must-have for a lot of people. And yeah, a lot of people on my hardcore gaming forum are really stoked about Geometry Wars.

Plants Vs Zombies is a fun and addicting game. Also check out Harbor Master which is free for now. Tapulous, the makers of Tap Tap Revenge, has a new game for the iPad called Tap Tap Radiation which is also free. enjoy...

My initial must have games...

Poker/Blackjack
Air hockey (2 player)
RISK!
mirrors edge for ipad (still have to see the trial, controls etc, but I'm a ME fan.)
Geometry wars
Monopoly
Battleship
Cod waw zombies (would be nice)

And will see if there's anything else.

Get something you'll play the sh.t out of. Addicting.

Or if you want to impress, get need for speed or nova fps.

Why do so many people like Plants vs Zombies? I have it on PC and it was a waste of money. It was fun for a couple of hours but after that I didn't want to launch it any more.

I'm definitely getting Worms HD. Fair price at $5. I love Worms!

I love that game, haven't played it since the old pocket pc days! Definitely purchasing Worms!

I sorta feel the same way. The game was fun for a little while but then it was just the same thing over and over again. Seems pretty over hyped.

I'm going to spend too much money in iPad apps and games. I'll tell you this much: Go for an iPad exclusive rather than an iPhone game that was optimized for the iPhone. Mainly because those really are all older games that probably haven't had a drastic graphic enhancement.

That's quite the generalization. Especially when you see screenshots and videos of Real Racing HD - they could just as easily have released that as an upgrade to the iPhone app, it wouldn't look any worse because it happened to include the original iPhone version. And the screenshots of Dungeon Solitaire look quite a lot better than the original iPhone version (which only came out early last month).

Well, if you can only buy one game, an iPad exclusive seems like a great bet. I kind of don't want to pay for apps like NOVA and Modern Warfare again, so it unlikely I'll buy the iPad versions. I've never purchased Real Racing, but I would like the iPhone version as well.

Surprised no one has mentioned Field Runners. Game is extremely fun and addictive. Definitely one of my favorite pay games under 9.99!
