Yes or no??

I want to upgrade to the beta Elcapitan and most importantly, when the new OSX beta comes in in 2 months, I want tone the first one to upgrade..


But, I will most definitely have to apple care for battery problems in next 2-4 months, right now its cool but 101% I will need to get it replaced/repaired.

Any ideas as to how I should proceed?

And btw, my 3 year applecare warranty expires in August..

I am quite sure that you will have hard time trying to replace your battery under warranty at this point, no matter which OS X version you run ;) Batteries deteriorate with use, so if you start having issues with the battery 2.5 years after the purchase of the computer, its most likely due to normal use rather than a hardware defect.

Nope.
New battery terms say if your battery health is below 80% and above 1000 cycles while still under Apple care they will replace it for free.

Google it up.

Why do you think I think you are wrong? Its simply silly to ask everyone to search the internet when you obviously have a perfectly good link to an Apple statement.

No mention of the 1000 cycles you refer to so I guess you were combining this statement with the normal warranty statement - which would be wrong, this statement refers explicitly to it being an additional Applecare benefit.

Can't see the software version affecting that benefit BTW.

Then your obvious choice is to NOT install beta software until your battery issue is settled down and you are happy.

To actually answer your question, the beta FAQ here (quote below) says it won't void your warranty at all, so I think you are fine.

That said, before you take it in for any warranty work, I would clone off the drive then do a clean install of a non-beta OS X version before you take it in just to avoid Apple trying to say your problems are caused by the beta software.

You are correct about the 80% thing. Source: I've spoken to an apple employee about it in the past.

I've had issues in the past with beta iOS versions but it wasn't about Apple not providing service it was about not being able to easily restore my iPhone. My mistake!

They will likely load some software onto your device and run diagnostics first. So it won't matter what version of iOS you have. Beta away!
