if iPhone falls into BBQ grill and gets burned like this woman's iPhone in this video, will it be covered under AppleCare?

Presuming it wasn't intentionally grilled on the BBQ, then it will almost certainly be covered as it probably won't be IP68 water resistant and there will most likely be other function issues like FaceID not working, the camera not working properly, speakers not working correctly etc.

I understand their curiosity, but I would keep that thing turned off and not on me until I brought it in. I’d be scared the battery would not react well.

I've often wondered how Apple handles phones that have bulging battery(or other obvious signs of battery going bad). I can't imagine them asking the customer to ship it back for a replacement. My nearest Apple Store or Apple authorized service provide is almost 3 hours away. If it does happen, will they make me ship it back? If so, what carrier will actually allow it to be shipped like that? :(

back in 2020(or late 2019), my Samsung Galaxy S9 had a battery that was bulging out and pushing the back out by quite a bit. The gap was enough for a credit card to go in. At the time, it was on Verizon and had Verizon's protection plan. All I had to do was bring it to the Verizon store across the road from my office and they replaced it. But my current iPhones were all purchased directly from Apple.... on the other hand, do iPhone batteries ever go bad like that?
