If MB="meg", GB="gig", then TB="..." ?

Given that 1TB and higher capacity hard drives are becoming increasingly common, it would seem natural that a colloquial shortening of "terabyte" will arise.

Not having come across any myself yet, I thought I'd put it to the floor - what have people come across?

That's cheating. I guess in Finland people say "kilo", "mega", "giga".

I think this is only a problem for English speakers.

"Tibs" would be quite amusing. I agree it would sound a bit like "tebibyte", but a lot of people use the terms interchangeably anyhow (incorrectly though, of course!)

"tib" would be horrible. The abbreviation of tebibyte is TiB, and tebibit is Tib.

I just say "one tera", as I say "one meg" and "one gig".

I know how it's spelled, but that's not how I hear it said. I was trying to get across the speech part of it, but that is difficult on a written forum. I guess I failed.

I rarely hear someone say someone say, "63 KB". They usually say, "63 K", regardless of the official abbreviation.
