If apple were to drop (1) iPad from the lineup which one would it be? I'll bet it would be the air, but others may argue the Mini. I love the Mini as that is what I use and I got it primarily as a book reader. Perhaps not as nice as Kindle but I have hundreds of books in the apple books format. But I hope none get dropped as I bet they are all popular but perhaps the Mini may be the slowest on sales.

Different take but get rid of the iPad Pro 11”. Apple messed up and actually separated their pro line due to the miniLED display and I feel pro models should have the same specs. That said Apple should introduce a bigger 14” or something to make the pro line “pro” again and force the narrative that those who use them want more work space.

Mini
Air
IPP 12.9”
IPP 14”

I like these choices except for the 14” IPP. Needs to be 15’ or preferably 16” to differentiate it from the 12.9”

I got rid of my 11 and kept the 6 mini. I prefer the mini for 99% of my use case and would rather use my mba if I need a bigger screen. 11 just collected dust. I’m actually trying to use my phone less and use the mini more. I figure one day apple will release a folding iPad had the mini and iPad 11 in screen. That would make me upgrade my mini!

If Apple was to drop one iPad... the most logical choice will be the iPad Mini, since its the model that Apple prioritize less when it comes to updates.

The reason why the iPad Air exist is a place holder between the regular iPad and the iPad Pro, if consumers don't care Pro price tag.. they can settle on the iPad Air with the M1 chip. I know Mini users are fond of it... but from my perspective, the iPhone Max serves as a Mini-like replacement.

And I'm fully aware there are iPhone Pro Max users who have a iPad Mini, but I think most Pro Max users gravitate toward the bigger iPad models (iPad Air & iPad Pro).

I think the Air & the regular iPad are redundant. Get rid of one of them. Keep the mini and the 11” & 12.9” pro. I see on here some said get rid of the 11” iPad Pro, but as an 11” iPad pro owner I of course disagree. I use the 11” iPad Pro mostly at home and the iPad mini while on the go as digital sketchbooks and to edit photos & videos on. I chose the 11” iPad Pro over the 12.9” iPad Pro because it feels more like a tablet. It’s easier to hold in one hand while sketching or to lay in bed with watching movies. To me that’s what tablets are for - holding. But I can see why some choose the 12.9” screen size too. And can even see the case being made for a 14” iPad Pro for artists that like bigger screens. Again, to me, the regular iPad & iPad Air are the two that seem most similar. I would consolodate them into one low cost tablet. And keep the mini for those that prefer even smaller tablets, and give pro users a choice between the 11” & 12.9” sizes.

MacBook Air - iPad Air
MacBook Pro - iPad Pro

Since MacBook [non-Pro/Air] is no longer sold, they should also get rid of iPad [non-Pro/Air] and the mini...

Also, Apple should go back to 2 sizes/models only like the iPhone 6/6s/7 days... iPhone and iPhone Pro/Ultra...

They need to consolidate the entry level instead of having both previous and current gen regular iPad. Otherwise, I’m okay with the status quo.

Good
iPad 11th gen $349-399

Better
iPad mini $499
iPad Air $599

Best
iPad Pro 11” $799 (might go up to $899+ with OLED)
iPad Pro 12.9” $1099

Agree.
I think the lineup will make a lot more sense when both the 11 and 12.9 inch Pros get OLED and M3 chips.
Will make the LCD packing iPad Air with M2 a clear step below.

Yeah right. Try reading books on a iPhone max and then the Mini.

Agreed for the most part, though being as though we’re asking for what we want, you may as well drop a couple of 100 off of the price points there 😂

You don’t need to get rid rid of your iPad just because either Apple don’t sell it anymore or a random forum poster thinks it’s redundant. Just keep it and be happy.
I am glad they sell it. I visited the Apple Store when I had the Mini 4 and the sales clerk told me that would be the last Mini Apple sells. I am so happy he was wrong!

I have had the following.

Mini 2, 4, 5, 6.

I think they should drop the Air and the Pro 11. There are too many models now. Keep 3 levels. I would like to see features like 120hz, micro/OLED, Face ID and high storage across all models, but it’s Apple. So, I figure something like this would be feasible and realistic.

iPad mini
9” - 90hz
128/512gb

iPad
11” - 90hz
256/512gb

iPad Pro
13” - 120hz
256/512/1/2tb

I actually have three of the 11" iPad Pro. One is a 2018 that my daughter uses, a M1 that I use (sparingly, it was $549 at Target) and one I use purely for work.

The 11" Pro is a great performer, and has legs.

Eventually, not having upgraded models is gonna be an issue when firmware updates stop being released for it and apps stop working on old iOS versions.

The Air is stupid. Standard iPad for simple stuff, iPad Pro for bigger stuff. I don’t understand the purpose of the iPad Air.
