It is ONLY fair that they increase the price of the phone by $150-$200, since that's what they did when they added a 2nd camera to the iphone X. it makes sense because cameras the BY FAR the most expensive components of a phone!

I think your post is trying to incite an argument on purpose, by saying you think ‘it’s fair’ that they charge more money for a third camera. I don’t think Apples prices for the 2019 iPhone XS will increase, regardless if it has a third camera not.

For the record, they didn’t just charge more money for the second camera the 2017 iPhone, it was Apples most expensive iPhone in terms of what it was offering in hardware with the glass back, stainless bands, Face ID, OLED panel, ect. Apple was set out to test the smart phone market with the 2017 X price point.

Pretty sure this is a troll post but I'll bite.

I'm to the point where I couldn't give a crap about the camera anymore, it's good enough and has been for a while, it's to the point it's like processor upgrades.

If they don't reduce prices by $100 with the 2019 phones, they are complete idiots. Should be $200, but we all know that won't happen.

No, just no.

Forgive my ignorance, but why would they add a third camera? What would be the benefit?

I've been there for a while. It's just a camera, it takes pictures.. it isn't expected to produce million-dollar artwork. They could remove the camera altogether and I wouldn't really miss it.

This thread is going nowhere fast...

Well, it's too early to even know how "good" the 2019 iPhone cameras will be. I am at a point where if a camera is good enough, I won't even bother splitting hairs w/ a Note 9/Pixel 3/iPhone XS Max comparison. Like I said before, a 3rd camera is really a gimmick. If someone really wants true top notch photography, they would use a DSLR since mobile photography isn't going to make cameras obsolete by the end of this year.

The fact the Pixel 3 has the best camera on the market isn't going to make me say "hey, I want to buy Pixels for that one feature." To me, it's all about the software experience. Only reason why I would even look at what Google offers. Samsung's software isn't my favorite and I dislike it, so I wouldn't touch one of their phones until they go back to Pure Android.
