A big part of me upgrading is hardware.

If the next iPhone is similar in design with maybe just slightly smaller notch and/or bezels I’m probably not upgrading.

I went from 6 to X for this reason.

3G to 4 to 5 to 6 to X. I move with the design/display interface, etc. It's gotta feel different, new in hand.

Yeah, has to have it for me. I was happy on my iPhone SE (still my favorite form factor by far!) But the bezel reduction on the X was just too beautiful to pass up. Im hoping there could be an SE refresh with the X design.

Glad to see I’m not the only one who feels this way.

If the next iPhone is pretty much the same physical design as the current iPhone X, I’ll probably wait.

I don’t think I would even notice slightly thinner bezels and/or a slightly smaller notch tbh.

ESPECIALLY, since I use an Apple case most of the time anyway.

Hopefully my iPhone X doesn’t get slow though.

I’m going for the iPhone X plus come September.
I currently have an iPhone X and an iPhone 8plus.

Hardware updates are inside the phone.

iPhone 8 may look like iPhone 6 but the inside is all different.

More than likely, I will update one of my iPhone X’s to the plus size. If not, I am perfectly happy with what I have now.

If there’s an iPhone X plus, its going to be bananas!

Even if it’s harder to hold then my iPhone X, I may be inclined to buy it anyway if it is manageable for me.

And do it change the usability? outer form factor? Who looks inside their phones? That they are different?
[doublepost=1531971681][/doublepost]6.1 lcd is my next phone; I would like to wait one more year for plus model, because next model would come with triple lens camera.

Every two years I get a new phone regardless of design, iPhone or android. So upgrading or switching from my X won’t be till 2020.

Question can be answered by looking at how many purchased phones since iPhone 4, 4S, 5, 5S, 6, 6S, 7 and 8 were all basically the same yet they sold when someone needed a new phone.

3D Touch, Raise to Wake, ARKit, 4K video recording, wireless charging.

You don't need to look inside to know they're different phones.

The problem is people like you buy it to show off, not to use the phone. :)

What happens when they reach the holy grail & manage to fit all sensors/cameras under the screen? That cycle won't end....the form factor changes from that point will be so minimal, that those who upgrade just for a 'different feel' won't have much of a reason to.

Luckily, i'm not one to tire of a form factor, so long as it's bezel-free & the software/internals keep improving their interaction with each other.

Reference the Bolded, I think it’s fairly obvious the next iPhone 2018 X will be identical in form factor. iPhones don’t generally change physically on a year-to-year basis, look at the iPhone 6 through 8, similar chassis used through all four models. Where you will notice the _ most_ significant changes for the 2018 iPhone X will be internal improvements, camera upgrades and Face ID refinements.

I have always been used to upgrading yearly, but I should seriously consider upgrading every two years at this point. My X isn't going to become useless once iOS 12 is released. And I'm sure the new X models aren't going to drastically change the way I use my iPhone anyway.

That being said, I'll probably still upgrade come September.
