Too vague

It's still too vague. Sure, the iPad is the most portable. Yes, it has great battery life. But what is it that you're likely to do? You're putting the 1st Gen Apple TV and the PS3 in your list of potential devices which is a little odd to say the least with a MacBook (Pro) and an iPad.

So yeah, as a travel device, the iPad is probably the best overall device. You can surf, play games, play music and watch movies. But it doesn't have a ton of storage space and if you're trying to surf the web, you're going to lack Flash functionality which may or may not matter to you.

I usually travel with one or more cameras, so I need a laptop if I want to do anything useful with the photos I take while I'm on the road. It doesn't sound like the iPad is going to be a useful photographers tool any time soon unless Apple decides to open up the platform. I also usually need access to the Internet and email, and a laptop covers those needs as well. My trips don't revolve around watching television or playing games, so it would never occur to me to take a media streamer or game console.
