I don't want to be that guy that starts asking about a jailbreak, so don't think that's what I'm doing, I'm just asking a question that popped into my head. If (or when if you want to say that) the iphone 5s is jailbroken, assuming the jailbreak dev crew can make it to where the fingerprint scanner is accessible for jailbroken apps, would it be possible for an activator update to comprehend individual fingers and make them open certain programs/perform certain tasks?

A lot of what if's here, and please don't get on my case about talking about a jailbreak when the phone's not even out, I'm not, I'm posing a hypothetical question. Basically could a scanner comprehend that one finger is different from another?

Depends on the hardware setup, as i understand it the fingerprint feature is seperate hardware, might take some time as there won't be an API for it. Like the in call recording, that took years before it was developed.

my guess is only if they have bootrom access (maybe), if it's a userland jb I would assume no.
