If you choose to backup to iTunes, can you choose iCloud later?

I somehow magically booted my recovery mode, and had to restore.

I tried to restore from iCloud, but it gave me an error. Several times. (Traffic...?)

I want to wait 'till the traffic dies down a little, but I need my iPod for something now.

If I choose to restore from iTunes, can I (re) setup iCloud later?
