I got notice of that I was charged for an automatic renewal of a 1 year family pack on 12/29.

I called Apple and told them I had received a 1 year family pack as a Christmas present and would prefer to use the gift code instead of being charged.

They said they'd temporarily cancel my account, then refund the automatic renewal, and that I should just enter my gift code at mm.com. I did so and my account was reinstated without a hitch.

A week later, I saw a refund in my bank account for $107.79. That amounts to a $99 family pack plus NYC tax.

The problem is, back when they automatically renewed my account, somehow they charged me $162.23 for the year.

A chat session with an mm rep ended with a second refund for $54 being issued, and the chat rep scratching their head as to how this happened.

The inner conspiracy theorist in me can't help but think I can't be the only person on the planet to have been arbitrarily overcharged.

Might wanna check your statement...

Isn't the Family Pack $149? $149 + tax would be the $162 price.

It sounds like you were accidentally refunded at the single user price, when you should have been refunded for the family pack price.

Hmm...? I had a similar issue yesterday but my account was charged $111.54 and then the entire amount was credited back without me doing anything. Wondering if/when they will charge me again for the correct amount.
