If you regret updating to iOS 12, downgrade now while you still can

I've seen a lot of complaints regarding battery life in iOS 12 compared to 11 and 10. I upgraded my iPad Air 2 to iOS 12, and while the OS feels (just) a little bit snappier, battery life has been considerably worse than 11.4.1 (clean install), the iPad has only 16 battery cycles, so it's no where near consumed (battery health at 99% according to coconut battery app)

Well, the good news is that Apple is still signing iOS 11.4.1, that means you can downgrade to iOS 11 from 12. the bad news is that they'll stop signing 11.4.1 soon, so if you regret upgrading to iOS 12, downgrade now while you still can.

I downgraded my iPad to iOS 11 and surprisingly, the battery life is back to normal.
 
Interestingly enough I recall seeing more complaints about battery life in relation to iOS 11. That said, as is usually the case with most things, experiences vary from device to device and user to user.

When you depend on a piece of software that is not working as intended, then downgrading is the only option.
 
I’m going to downgrade my iPhone X today. I’ve never downgraded before but over the last couple of days I’ve noticed multiple instances of the UI just freezing and taking several seconds to start responding again. There’s no way I’m going to put up with another iPhone 6 Plus situation, the iOS updates to that device ruined it.

If you are having issues with 12 something is broke on your phone. Fixing it is the correct path, going back to 11 is not.

try a fresh install of iOS 12 on your device, it could be what's causing your problems.

no issues here on my 7 plus.. did an upgrade not a fresh install to iOS 12 and i'm good.

No issues on 5s.

But in its infinite wisdom and goodness, Apple used 12 to turn Bluetooth back on. Best to check that Apple hasn't changed any other settings...which deplete the battery.
 
It’s the first time in history that I’ve not had any issues with a new iOS. I would never go back to iOS 11, my 6s is working perfectly and smoothly on iOS 12. Battery life is also great!!

I guess different people have had different experiences to one degree or another.
