I'm thrilled to see promo codes on here, but I hate it how people use them, and then don't list it as used. It's simple courtesy folks. If you can't follow that basic rule, then stop using promo codes!

Think before you take...will you really use it?
This is just an idea to throw out there and make the promo's last a little longer. 1st, the Dev's should choose something or enter a bonus word or line with their App in the iTunes store. Then make users go to the iTunes store and their app to get the bonus word or phrase and email it to the dev who will send out the promo's.
This does two things...it gets users to the devs app and at least look at it and read about it somewhat before just cashing in a code that they won't use because it wasn't something they would use and then its wasted. I have had dev's offer me promo codes and I have turned them down because I won't use the app and I told them to give it to someone else.
2nd, it is free advertising for the dev by getting users to go to the app store even after the code is gone and maybe it will increase sales for a short while.
You have to many youngsters that just snatch the codes and cash them in without doing a little checking to see if they would even be interested. What a waste. It also helps to have a little self control on these things from the adults and that is...have the courtesy to check out the app first then get a code and give a review. Its the snatch and grab jerks that do not have the courtesy to say they used one and if they don't have the courtesy to say I used the code then they dang well won't leave a review of any sorts.
Dev's don't just give em away...do yourself a favor and make people send you an email or pm with a code word, get a little advertising and when they send you that code word, then do a follow-up pm or email and ASK what the user thought about it, was there any bugs etc.
Just an idea but I really think most users here would understand and accept this method.

I don't believe that number to be very accurate as to who is really a member or not. I'm often, as I imagine are other members, not logged in but browsing.
Though I do agree with the OP and your sentiment.
I guarantee the number of unregistered guests outnumbers the amount of registered members by plenty. If the number isn't dead on, its pretty close. I don't think guests should be able to browse.

best way is for the developer giving out codes to say PM or email to get codes, and first, say 10 ppl, gets the code.
This way only the registered users can reap the benefits and no hassle to check which code i used or not

This also irks me. If you won't use an app, why use the code? Someone else can use it and review it. I have turned down multiple apps that I won't use.
