I never though I'd crack open another PC case after abandoning the wintel universe back in 2006. I was tired of worrying about firmware updates, searching for drivers, hacks, service packs, etc.
After upgrading my mac mini's SSD last fall, I started looking into late model Mac Pros locally.
With a lot of help from the Mac Pro threads, netkas forum, and Thomaspin's blog, I now have a 12-core beast to do my bidding.
Look into the 4,1 or 5,1 MPs if you need more CPU & GPU power and don't want an iMac or hackintosh.
