While I know their Apple batteries are fine.

I'm wondering if the same holds true for various Android phones. As it seems the market for batteries for any Android flagship is way smaller than any single iPhone model. Giving less incentive for manufacturers to make good aftermarket battery cells.

Specifically, I need a new battery for my Pixel XL. It isn't my main phone. It's just nice to use for reading news and such in the evening. As the screen's much wider than my more portable phones.

I just don't know if the iFixit batteries worth the extra cost. Which is almost double after factoring in new adhesive. Plus with the hassle of disassembling and reassembling a Pixel XL. I want something which'll just work.

You should be able to source OEM batteries as you do not have same issues with Apple right to repair, generally with Android so there must be some other factor you are considering using Ifixit ?

I see no options for buying a Pixel XL battery directly from Google. I have know way of knowing if those claiming to be OEM from a random reseller aren't counterfeit or rejects.

It's not like the iPhone were you can find a battery from a good brand with tons of reviews. They either have bad reviews, little or no reviews.

I bought one for my 6S back in the day, and it screwed up the "official Apple parts" sensor, so battery readings were completely off, if not screwed up. Never again.

So your happy to buy counterfeit Apple parts based on random peoples feedback but are having trouble sourcing OEM parts retailer for your Pixel XL and you question Ifixit price for parts

Google list authorized repair centers, buy from them or find reviews for a reputable OEM parts retailer

Anyways, I looked at the reviews on iFixit. Seems like pretty much everyone toasted their Pixel XL display. Trying to disassemble it. As it's extremely fragile and heavily glued.

It's too much money for a worthless phone I'll probably destroy in the replacement process.

Since I don't carry it around with me. I'll just keep it plugged into power when using it for reading in the living room. Might just replace it with a Note10 or Note10+ with a 100% battery life. As I don't care for the Android tablet options except the Galaxy Tab S6. But it's way too big. Wish they made that in a 7"-8" model with a good CPU and screen.
