Given the display driver board is exactly the same, it seems the fix may have been through software.

It’s still there but it’s much improved which they note in the video teardown. Go to the Apple store and test it. It is almost imperceptible to me, YMMV.

Having moved from the 6 to the 7, yes it is still there if you look for it but it is vastly improved and much more acceptable.

Wow software improvements locked to the new generation for no other reason than to push people to upgrade, not for technical limitations reasons

It’s not like they’ve never done that but that’s absurd to be a covert upgrade lol and one that still bothers a lot of mini 6 people . I don’t really care but imo it shouldn’t have it at all

It’s Not even part of their marketing materials “improved motion” or something

Its bothers people that own non A17 Pro based iPhones 15's and all the iPhone lines before that more. But one can also clearly see the writing on the wall that eventually it will matter, we're just not at that point quite yet. But come next WWDC with iPadOS 19 you likely see that there will be the expectation of multiple AI processes running concurrently on people iPads that the 4GB RAM mini 6 wouldn't permit to run.

So during the next year its will indeed be a decision of some upgrade if you consider the iPad mini 7 more usable for what you want to run. Years ago software was the most important deciding point, the hardware decision came after that from what was needed to run that software and at what speed. ;)

And what proof do we have of this? It could just as much be a fact of some type of software fix only the A17 Pro is able to run too.

The proof is doubt. Sounds shady Apple Intelligence surveilling the jelly lol

I would think the display controller would be tweaked in some way but teardown makes it seem not so

Likely the mini 7's LCD panel response time is better IMHO. Yes some vendors just make better LCD panels with similar specs. Maybe its Samsung's?

But the joke about Apple AI stealthy correcting the worst of jelly motion does sound funny. :D

It’s significantly less noticeable than on Mini 6. Also, it doesn’t really matter for regular use.

You are right at some things here. I remember when apple first introduced altimeter and barometer, so people were making fun that apple know which floor people go to toilet.

With all apple watch tracking, I wouldn’t be surprised if apple is actually in the business of tracking individual people.

Just like mcdonalds is not in the business of making food - it is actually the biggest conglomerate of owning real estate.

Apple would not be a hardware seller but the encyclopedia of people and their wants, health conditions and commuting routes. Which probably make the ai run in the background at some point.
