Hi all,

I'm looking for an alternative to iFlicks. As much as I love the software for quick conversion and the adding of metadata, it seems the software might be going the way of the dodo bird. It hasn't seen any updates for quite some time now and it appears its social accounts have went inactive for quite some time. Figured I'd start taking a look to see if anything else exists..

Is there anything out there as nice and intuitive as iFlicks? Or is Handbrake really the only other option?

Thanks!

I'd be interested in this too. I'm having issues with iFlicks creating strange MP4 files (from MKV) that make a 30 minute TV show to appear to be 100's of hours long and play like a very slow slideshow! This only happens on my M1 mini (running Monterey), it's working fine on an Intel MacBook Pro also running Monterey.

There was VideoDrive that did the same as iFlicks. Much cheaper too. But they also stopped updating as soon as iTunes was dead. Guess there’s no interest in using the TV app to maintain your local media library. And let’s face it, Apple did a poor job in that area. There are much better alternatives out there.

I use Subler to convert .mkv to .mp4. Takes less than 2 minutes. It also retrieves the metadata. I have been using it for years. It is still being updated.

I use Handbrake for coding but relied on iFlicks for batch metadata processing. I recently had to upgrade my computer and iFlicks won't recognize my registration code, and there is no one supporting the app any more. The website is outdated, all social media accounts have been dead for at least a year, and there is no support available via the website. I don't need a converter, but is Subler good at batch updating metadata and artwork?
