Is there a way to ignore text messages so they do not count as a text. I'm about up for the month and I don't want messages sent to me to cause me to have to pay.

AT&T might be able to do that if you call them. I have no idea. Definitely not something you can do through your account on their site.
 
Another possibility: just have them bump you to the next highest text plan, and ask them to backdate it. If you ask nicely, you'll get the higher plan (just pay the difference) and be able to continue receiving texts.
 
tell your friends not to text you anymore until the end of your current billing cycle... :p
 
Spend the $10 bucks to get an additional 1500. I found that 200 is not quite enough, and 1500 is more than enough so no need to get unlimited for $20.
