Does anyone know how to ignore software updates (on App Store) in Mountain Lion? For example, there is a printer software update that I really don't want to install, yet it keeps popping up on the Notification Center.

Doesn't work

right clicking on an item in the app store only offers to let me copy the link. I'm running Mountain Lion, 10.8.2, and App Store 1.2.1.

I've tried right-clicking on every single thing on the page, the icon, the title, the update button, the arrow at the top where it says "1 Update Available" and I can't seem to get anywhere.

Any other suggestions?

Try this? If you have more than one account it may not work. If you installed someone else s app store software, it will keep showing.

For the software update you would like to hide - make sure the full description of the update is shown - click "More..." if needed to show the full description

Right click on the update window. Select "Hide update"

This will hide the update and it will not show in the App Store Updates Window or counted on the dock icon.

To restore - select "Show all software updates.." which is now shown in the App store "Store" menu. Then "Reload Page" from the Store menu.

I can confirm this works.
