iHibachi 3.0 (it's BURNING me now!)

I upgraded it. BUT.

Now it's been turned into a pocket hibachi. An iHibachi..

First off, it stays HOT. It kills the battery faster than I can charge it.

It is transmitting constantly, what, I do not know.
I KNOW it's transmitting something because it makes my pc speakers buzz really loudly all the time. Before it only made the speakers buzz when someone would call me or I would call them. Sometimes it would just randomly send something for a few seconds then stop when it was just sitting there.

Now it's non-stop transmitting something.

I have installed sbsettings and turned off edge, push and bluetooth but that makes no difference. Even tried turning off wifi.

I have been using this phone on centennial wireless for at least 6 months without issue at all. Yes, it's unlocked and running on a NON ATT carrier. And it's worked great. No complaints at all about how it worked before.

The battery would last about 2 days on standby. I talk about 4-5 hours a day to my friend on it every day and would still have at least 30% battery left by the time I put it on charge for the night.

Now, it kills the battery in less than an hour.

And it gets so hot that I can't handle it while talking on it. When I chat with my friend I use the apple earbuds and I put the phone in my bra (hey, I can't help it that women's shirts don't have pockets) so I can do housework while I talk.
It was never a problem before. Now? Oh no.. No way. It would burn me if I did.

This 3.0 stuff is garbage. I hate it. I haven't even been able to explore the new features because I can't really use the thing due to it being too hot to handle and the battery going dead so fast.

Please tell me there's a fix for this?

Have you tried doing a DFU restore and setting up as a new iPhone? Sometimes when things are restored from a backup there are issues.

Yes, I set it up as a new phone, it was wiped totally clean and would not come up.
It forced me to plug it into itunes to restore it and then it said my sim was invalid and it would only let me use it as an emergency phone only.


No, it never had heat problems before, at all.

I deleted two apps, one was a vampires game and one was a swine flu tracker.
As soon as I deleted them the phone stopped transmitting, quit overheating and battery life is pretty much back to normal again.

I never played the game, just installed it, it was a freebee.
The flu tracker never worked, I tried to run it once and it didn't do anything.

They are both gone and the phone now seems to work as it should.

How totally frustrating that was!
