hey

if i set my alarm clock for the next morning, the phone rings but the screen stays black. just at the second ring (after is snoozled) the screen will be back on.

the problem is... if the screen stays black at first ring, i dont find my iphone in the dark... :-(

anyone noticed a difference to the old alarm clock (iOS 8)?

Same here. When my alarm goes off most mornings the screen is black. It wont let me turn it off until I light the screen which I have been doing with the home button. The same thing with my iPad and Smart Cover. Most mornings when I open my iPad for the first time the screen will remain dark. I place my finger on the touch ID and it reads it but remains dark. When I push the home button it lights the unlocked display. Both phone and iPad have been doing this since early in the iOS 9 beta process. Its not the end of the world but its annoying at times.

Can confirm, this has happened here also. Definitely a bug in iOS9.

I've noticed it isn't consistent though. I did set some test alarms and on several of them the screen came on.

This has been happening to me too. Seems to happen mostly when phone has been off a long time, like overnight for my morning alarm. Anyone found a way to fix it, or do we just need to wait for an update?

It's a bug. The alarm works normally if my phone isn't plugged in and charging.

Not sure if they fixed the bug yet but after I installed 9.2 beta 4, my alarm turned on the display this morning. I'll report back after a few more days as I've noticed in the past it can be hit or miss with the alarm bug.

Just wanted to report back that my screen has turned on every day since I installed 9.2 beta 4 so I think the alarm bug has been fixed and will be fixed when they release 9.2 to the public.

Hopefully, they release 9.2 next week. BTW the issue also occurs when using the timer....Timer alarm goes off, and the screen stays black.

I have 9.2 beta 4 and this bugs still occurred for the past few days for me. Only it was with the screen staying on after the alarm goes off and showing the wrong time after snoozing it.

I wanted to make sure it worked consistently before saying anything, but since the most recent 9.2 update a little over a week ago mine has been working consistently. For me the issue has been resolved. Yay!
