I went to looks at some desks at Ikea, I was originally thinking the Mikael desk, but it was much smaller than I thought it would be in person. I saw the Glant desk and I would probably get it with no addons, except maybe the little raised extension in the back corner. So just the L shape part with the shortest part to my left.

I was hoping some people could post up their Ikea Galant desks with their setups.

the best thing about the Galant is that you can make it higher or lower with ease, it can go almost as high as a "pub" table

Photo isn't really up to date with what is on it currently but I think you get the idea. It has the extension pieces on it too, BTW.

Corner not shown.

I spent only 75 on this desk!! Just check out Ikea's outlet store, most of the times you will get amazing discounts.

My brown Galant desk in 2008:

My current black Galant desk:

Da-amn! For the first time in a while I feel a small grain of envy. Nicely set up :)

and Blue: That's the same iMac my guitar teacher used to have. He had one of those special iMac totes and he'd cart it in and out of his recording/production gigs.

Me Mum loves her Galant desk. The hermano and I got it for her for Chrimmy over a year ago, and it works out great for her. We mainly got it because she's in a wheelchair (quadriplegic) and, ergo, needs a high desk, so the adjustable legs are absolutely perfect. Ikea says it's their industrial strength desk line, so it'll certainly hold up, as well. Plus, they look really nice. She has the corner desk with short side on the left in the black/brown color. I'd post a pic, but her iMac's at Apple Store getting a new HDD, and she's made a mess of the desk in the meantime. But eh, she's got an excuse, I guess.

My desk is just a tad messy right now. :p I bought the birch veneer right corner desk with "A legs"

I do have the extension but I'm not using it at the moment. My bed is in the way so I can't use it.

Cold Fusion generator.

(it's an LED lamp, not a very effective one either)

It has been replaced by two much more efficient condensed matter nuclear fusion devices, also from IKEA.

That monitor platform...

Is nothing more than the half circle desk end piece from the Galant desks, placed on probably 3 legs. I have something similiar with I think it's a door from the Effektiv cabinets put onto 4 legs as a platform. I'll post pics of my desk(s) shortly.

Cool, thanks! My samsung monitor has no height adjustment, so I need to find a way to raise it! Thanks for the help! I look forward to seeing your setup! :D
