iKit anyone seen this on Gizmodo?

ok i was on gizmodo earlier and say this article:

its for a car mount thats being made for the iPad. its pretty serious cause it replaces your whole radio unit. its a double din mount so you would need a double din radio to be replaced. what are all your thoughts on this? i think it can be great for 3g users w/ GPS who can use that. of course youll have idiots using it while driving but even w.o a mount i think ppl using it would be just as previlant. thoughts?

I'm a big fan of car pc's. You can search me up on MP3Car.com from way back.

But this looks ridiculous. 7" screen "modded in" is the max for me.

Looks like it's for car with double DIN radio opening. Won't work in my 535i or my wife's Toyota. Aren't a lot of newer cars today made with molded in dash radios. Seems like you'd need an older car, or to cut your dash apart to make it work.

Looks kind of silly I think, It's a little too big kind of kills the aesthetics of the car's dash.

yea, that was my problem with it. seemed like it stuck way too far out from the dash itself. i really liked that other video i posted thought from SoundMan out in Cali. he redid his dash and made it so you can slip the ipad in and out rather easily. pretty sick. im nto sure how it could work but im sure in the future those of you big on car PCs could figure out a way to use the ipad in your car. ipad is def something sweet. still havent gotten mine yet. going to Apple store today to play with one i think.

Many states have laws against installing devices in the front seats capable of displaying certain kinds of video content (rear seats OK, GPS in front seat OK, movies in front seat not OK).
