I sold my iphone on ebay yesterday, it was a brand new replacement phone. I used Iliberty+ to unlock/jailbreak it, as was promised to the buyer. I ran the program according to the following instructions: http://www.intomobile.com/2008/03/0...ak-and-sim-unlock-guide-mac-only-for-now.html
The program seemed to work, it ran then i noticed upon restart that i have a no service (im still using my att sim card as i have no other.) So i read a post on this forum about fixing this problem, so it walked me through trying to restore using Itunes, however when i run this Itunes gives me the following error "the iphone could not be restored: error code 2001". So basically I'm about to panic because now the phone appears stuck in recovery mode and will not function. I promised I would ship tomorrow, as i was not anticipating these problems. How can i first fix the phone (back to original state) then just UNLOCK the phone, i dont need jailbreak with applications, i just promised him he could use any GSM SIM card. Thank you all PLEASE ANY HELP WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED!

Update, but STILL need help

Need help still on this problem. I was able to restore the phone to it's absolute original state, 1.1.4. I sold the phone and need to Unlock it, however when i did this last, is when it messed up. I don't need the jail break and install tools, just want to allow the person who bought it to use their GSM other SIM card. When i last ran the unlock it seemed to work fine, but when i used the phone it said i had no service.

try doing a hard reboot by holding both button on the phone for 15 second
this happend to me many times and I fixed it that way. Good luck

Try using the Pwnage tool this time. Sounds like you were trying to restore your phone in DFU mode. But yeah use Pwnage this time.

And you can't unlock without jailbreaking it. So your frist firmware you make with Pwnage is going to have all the necessary unlock programs on it. Then once it's unlocked you can make a second firmware without the installer or anything. It will make the appear to be stock but still unlocked.
