iLiberty+ Questions

I unlocked my iPhone last week using Ziphone, it worked great, and I have been enjoying my phone on T-mobile ever since. However my phone was an AT&T refurbished, and so it had the old 3.9 bootloader.

I have a friend that would like me to unlock 2 new iPhones for him, obviously since he will be buying them brand new they will have the 4.6 bootloader, so I want to use iLiberty+. I have a few questions because I have never used it before, and I do not want to mess up two brand new iPhones.

1. Are there any known problems that I should worry about?

2. If I check the add installer box when doing the unlock what does that add? Are there things that I should go into the advanced settings to install? (I want to have the exact same settup that I had after I used Ziphone on mine)

3. Installing BSD subsystems and OpenSSH should be the same right?

4. If the phones do have problems for some reason I can reverse everything and try it again right?

5. I don't have to worry about quit the itunes helper or anything right? It will do all of that by itself.

6. Is there anything else that I should know?

Please help; he wants me to do this today if possible. Thanks

- I just passed a thread or two on here about people with lock-up issues, but I don't know what they were or how serious. So far with iLiberty I've done my iPhone, a Touch (twice) and a friends Touch without any problems.

- I didn't do the advanced settings at first. I did try and go back to download/install the BSD Subsystem and got message that it isn't available yet. I ended up just getting it through the installer. You'll want the installer if you plan on using 3rd Party Apps.

- Through installer, yes.

- Correct (in theory). I did my Touch 2x, I was selling it to give to a friend (since i just got the iPhone) and did ran through iLiberty twice without any problems (One before and once after I did a restore).

- Right, I had iTunes opened and it closes it automatically.

6. Is there anything else that I should know?
- Um, just that iLiberty seems like the fastest, easiest, safest way to unlock/activate/jailbrake an iPhone or Touch! I literally took my new iPhone out of the box, connected it to my MBP, cancelled the iTunes activation and ran iLiberty. about 7 minutes later I had a fully unlocked, activated, jailbroken iPhone!

Thanks for your help, iLiberty worked great after a few problems at the beginning.

I unlocked and 8GB iPhone, and a 16GB iPhone.

I am now having problems with both of them saving settings though. I need to get my friends back and mess with it before I can know exactly what the problem is.

Has anyone else experienced problems like this?
