Is it pretty much a lock that iLife '06 will be unveiled/released at MWSF?

My HD just crashed, and I just realized that I'm going to have to buy iLife again. Hopefully Apple includes FrontRow in the '06 package.

No. It's speculated that it will, but no one knows for sure. My guess is that it will.

Why must you re-purcahse it?

Again, only speculation.

Because it doesn't come with OS X (which I have), it comes with new Macs. So when my HD was erased, I lose iLife, and you never get an iLife disc with your new Mac (at least not that I remember), so I'm stuck with having to rebuy it.

oh, and my warranty is expired and I never had Applecare, so I doubt Apple is just going to give it to me for free.

Not a big deal though, I was considering buying even '05, so '06 will be a nice little upgrade over '04. And I can't imagine FrontRow not being included, it wouldn't make much sense. It ties all of the iLife apps together in a streamlined, basic media center type environment.

a. there are plenty of threads on iLife '06 speculation already.
b. since your mac came with iLife preinstalled. reinstallation of the OS should include that version of iLife.

You don't get iLife when you install OS X via the install disks that come with the computer? I can't imagine that. I'd try it for you, but I don't want to wipe my hard drive.

well then maybe we should get better search software for the forums.

Searching "iLife '06" turns up 0 results.

well my computer came with 10.3.

I've since obtained 10.4 from my university, and instead of installing 10.3 and then upgrading to 10.4, I just did a fresh install of 10.4.

Not a big deal though. I'm planning on buying '06 anyways.

Sweet, the Mac nerds are attacking me.

I wish the plague of Bill Gates upon you all in 2006!

Oh, that's different, then... But how did you get iLife to begin with? The versions that came with your computer *ARE* on the system restore discs. And you *CAN* extract them, with Pacifist, if nothing else, from those discs without re-installing Panther.

But did you get the version of iLife that you have with Panther when you got the computer at first, or did you get it via some other route?
