iLife Bundle

Not sure how others feel & interested to hear comments. The whole new iLife apps pack is fantastic however I would imagine that I am not alone in the following respects;
I use iPhoto & love it, an upgrade will be fantastic.
Ditto for iTunes.
Here we hit a problem, I dont have a digital video camera & am unlikely to be buying one anytime soon so I dont use iMovie. Obviously this then means ditto for iDVD (espc - as I dont have a DVD burner ....)
I have no doubt GarageBand rocks but again I will not have any use for it.

So there you have it, I will be paying $79 (australian) for 5 apps of which only 2 of the updates are of any conceivable use to me.....

Yeah, I hear where you are coming from. I have no use for iPhoto or iDVD. Unfortunately, apple isn't offering these apps seperately.

Sounds like you two need to pool your resources and go half on iLife installing the upgrades that you need.

For people who'll use all/most of the apps it's an absolute steal. For people who only want 1 or 2 of the apps then it's not as appealing. That's just the way the ball bounces I guess. I'd like to get it but my machine won't run it. Maybe I'll be able to upgrade at MWSF '05.

$49 (US) is an awesome deal for those four programs (iTunes is really free). But if you use iPhoto, you can use iMovie, and if you use iMovie, then you can use iDVD. So I don't see how anyone who needs a program from iLife is unable to use the others as well.

Because you can take your photos and make cool slideshows in iMoive, and add other cool effects, and then you can burn them to a DVD if you have a writer. Or with the new feature, do an archive and take it to a friends house to burn.

GarageBand, I suppose won't be of interest to as many people as the rest of the iApps, but you could just consider it a nicety for those who can use it.

But even if you only need one program out of the four (GarageBand, iMovie, iPhoto, or iDVD), each within themselves is worth $49 dollars. So it's not like you're getting ripped off, it's just a wildly cool thing if YOU CAN make use of them all.

Absolutely - the edu price is excellent. It costs AU$55 which is really - dirt cheap for what your getting - now, compare it to the adobe equivilents ....

Also - you get all on a conveinient DVD - kickass.

I do remember (though not where) reading lots of people saying iPhoto was so good that it was worth the money.
I won't buy it cus I don't like it.
iLife = £39

Garageband - don't have an interest in composing music
iDVD - I've only used it once and most people can't use it.
iTunes - pretty useless upgrade outside the US
iMovie - needs DV streams - any movies that you what to edit must be converted or come out of a video camera. Conversion means Quicktime pro (more money).
Also iPhoto is not fully functional outside the US either. and i'll have to pay more for it than in America. So pay more get less - cool.

£39 = $72 (according to xe.com currency conversions)
