I am planning on buying an iPad 5 on release, can someone walk me through their experiences of getting the iLife apps for free with a new idevice. Has anyone had problems with them not showing up in the setup?

IF they don't show up immediately, you can download them free right from the app store, and the apps will be linked with your account so you can also download on other devices too.

So when I get my iPad 5; if they don't show up in the setup; the will be shown as free in the App Store? Just confirming...

That is how it worked with my iPhone5S. I had to search for each app in the store and they were listed as "free".

Thank you. Any sign of iOS 7 update for then to make them fit in? Those and iBooks have not been update for the new GUI...

I think I saw a rumor post here a month or so ago about that, but nothing since. Maybe we will see something with the iPad updates rumored for October.

iLife apps don't come preinstalled on your iDevice. Just look for them in the AppStore, each app will be free to you.

Right; that is what I wanted to check. I have a feeling that the pop up for them won't show up when setting up my future iPad 5 so I wanted to know I could do it that way.
