iLife on SR MBP

Hi, i bought a SR 2.4 mbp, yesterday from a store in London. When i go into iphoto, idvd etc, it says version 6. Is this the new one? I thought all new MBPs come with it?

you need to get the up to date disc from apple on line.....its 10 Bucks

they will not do anything you need to get it online i just got mine

My ver of iphoto is 5, my idvd is ver 6 (i have partially installed ilife 06 since I got my computer) maybe this helps. check on apples website to find info
you may have gotten old stock with ilife 06 on it, I'd talk to the store or apple

since he just bought his yesterday, they should have a copy of iLife 08' in the box. he shouldnt need to spend another 10 bucks that should've already came with his MBP, especially since he brought it in-store. iLife 08' came out almost 3 weeks ago...

my bad, it seems quite a while ago. case in point is that the newer MBP should come with iLife 08' (in a upgrade drop-in package) or preinstalled.

If you buy a Mac from retail it may have been manufactured prior to the release of iLife8 and therefore will not come with version 8. Apple's response is the uptodate program which actually offers anyone who purchased their Mac after 7 July 2007 a uptodate version 8 (even though the website said 7 Aug).

Since they are supposed to come with iLife08 if he tells them it didn't they will probably let he have one copy without paying anything, worth trying atleast.
