Is iLife worth the money? When Tiger comes out does anyone think it will be on it? Right now I do not have any version of it, but would like an iMovie/iDVD/iPhoto update real soon.

Yes. No. Can't you download the older version from when it was still free? Besides, how'd you get a superdrive equipped Mac and not get iLife?

Well, you tell me why I didnt get it. I mean, all my programs are the same versions as iLife 03, but its not like i get updates or anything for them.

Okay, so you do have iLife then. Run Software Update--that'll give you the most current updates available for your version. It's simple.

oh ok, but I have always ran Software Update. So I must have the latest, I will just purchase iLife 04, thank you!

it's sad apple charges for the ilife package, but on the other hand it is great to have a separate bundle so nobody can sue apple for unfairly bundling the apps into the operating system. now that the ilife is available for purchase, apple can state that it is giving the package away for free with every hardware purchase, and includes older versions for free with every operating system purchase.

in the end it's not so bad. most people buy new computers every two years, so it is expected to have ilife free every other year. so 50 dollars every other year becomes 25 dollars a year, which is totally ok for the DVD the package contains - i wouldn't want to download idvd or garageband via 512kbps internet connection after all ;) that said, i haven't yet had to buy the ilife once, but will probably have to early next year if they release one, unless i wait for the tiger which supposedly includes the latest. or maybe there is not going to be an ilife'05 because the tiger will be released first half 2005.

ok, i shut up now ;)
