Heey Guys!

I was wondering, I'm working on a new Logo for a friend of my.
In the logo is something like a balk. (a vector object) but I want to let te text ©KoenMovies "Erased" of the balk... so that its transparent were the letters should be in the balk (I hope you understand).

Does someone know how i can get this done?

Thanks!

Create a black rectangle. Create your text. Make sure the rectangle is bigger than the text.

With the text path/box selected Go Type -> Create Outlines.

Put the outlined text on top of the black rectangle. Select both the rectangle and the text. Use the Subtract From Shape Area function on the Pathfinder palette and you should end up with a black rectangle with the 'holes' punched out in the shape of the text -- anything behind will show through.

Cheers

Jim
