Hello, I was just looking around on the Dutch Apple site, because I'd like to buy an iMac. I was quite surprised, because is saw this:

I'll translate everything:

- Keyboard (Dutch) & manual (Dutch)
- Keyboard (Dutch) & manual (English)
- Keyboard (International English) & manual (English)
- Lighted Keyboard (Dutch) & manual (Dutch)
- Lighted Keyboard (Dutch) & manual (English)
- Wireless Keyboard (International English) & manual (English)

'Verlicht' means illuminated, lighted up.

I saw this only at the Dutch Store. Not in the US store.

So I am really astonished. Is this some kind of new feature, or it has been confessed for a long time.

Note: Sorry, My English isn't so good.
Note 2: Verlicht means lighted, but not smaller.
Note 23: I've already submitted this as a newspost

hmmm strange
i would like one :)
its weird using an external keyboard, and when it goes dark my mbp keys turn on

hmmm, connection refused, was a link provided or should I just goto the Dutch store ?

weird, i just translated verlicht toetsenbord on the translator widget. and it came up as lighted keyboard. but one things for sure, it isn't light. maybe lighted means slimmed down, since the wireless keyboard is slimmed down, no number key pad. it stops at the delete/enter/arrow keys, no number pad and everything.

that does make more sense

But now you have the choice of 3 types according to the site
- Wired
- Wireless
- lighted (which is also Wireless I guess)

(I edited the First Post, I translated everything)

I would like to see this, on a wired version, could you imagine how quickly this would eat through the batteries in a wireless? I'm lucky if I can get mine to last a month (the ungodly expensive e2 lithium ones).

Don

If they have wireless why would they say lighted as well if they meant wireless?

Just use rechargeable batteries ;)

well if lighted meant without the number pad...
it works out if you think of it like that with the eng and duch keys and manuals

Yes, but I meant that I thought that there were 2 types of the wireless version, the lighted one and the normal wireless keyboard.

I think this is just a copy & paste error of the translators. If you replace "Verlicht" by "Draadloos", the choices for the wireless are exactly like for the standard keyboard.

Yes, I think it's just an error of the translators, but why do they change the translation? It has been good for like a year, so it remains remarkable...

For a really long time (I guess since the introduction of the alu mac) there were just de wired one, and the wireless. But the site has recently been updated and since then you can choose the lighted version... So why did they change it?

Maybe this is a sign of things to come, if you are serious with the purchase then please buy it and tell us what comes.

hey why doesn't anyone just email apple?

i did that when i was having trouble with my express card and my comp crashing and i got personal care and they checked up on me like every week for a while and they practically replaced my whole computer.

so... i do not think they will mind telling you whats up.

I suspect that soon the Macbook Air illuminated keyboard will replace the current ones as it would match the iMac's color scheme much better.

Maybe there was just some small correction to the page needed (like a new URL for an image), and the web designers accidentally updated an earlier version of the file. Things like that happen all the time, and even Apple is not immune to it.

Anyway, what makes me suspicious about a illuminated keyboard, that it should be available with Dutch layout first.

hey look its been changed… Apple employees must look at the forums after all!
